INGREDIENTS

  • Oats for Daliya - ½ cup
  • Split green gram - ½ cup, washed and drained
  • Ginger - ½ tsp, finely grated
  • Garlic - ½ tsp, minced
  • Peas/carrots (or your choice of veggies) - 1 cup
  • Salt -  to taste
  • Turmeric powder - ⅛ tsp
  • Asafoetida (hing) - ⅛ tsp
  • Water - 4 cups
  • Ghee/butter/cooking oil - 1 tsp

PREPARATION

  • Heat ghee/butter/cooking oil in a pressure cooker
  • Add Oats for Daliya to the cooker and roast until fragrant (approx. 2 minutes)
  • Add washed and drained split green gram, water, peas/carrots, ginger, garlic, turmeric powder, asafetida and salt
  • Mix and pressure cook until you hear the first whistle, turn off stove and allow the pressure to go down by itself
  • Serve with Curd
