To cook 1 cup of dry quinoa you need about 2 cups of water or broth. 1 cup dry quinoa yields about 3 cups cooked quinoa. Quinoa cooks in about 15mins. Quinoa can also be cooked in a rice cooker - just follow the 1-part quinoa, 2-part water ratio and follow the instructions of you cooker.
Why does some Quinoa have a bitter taste and can it be removed?
Quinoa’s natural bitterness comes from a natural chemical compound called saponin which is on the outside of the seed. It can be removed by a vigorous rinsing in a mesh strainer. However, Bagrry’s Organic Quinoa is pre-washed, so rinsing is not necessary.

We recommend that Bagrry’s Organic Quinoa be stored in a cool, dry and odour free place. Once opened, it is important to store contents in a well-sealed container to eliminate the risk of infestation and to retain freshness. There is no need to keep the dry quinoa in the refrigerator.
