What are the benefits of eating Oats?
Oats, the primary ingredient in various Bagrry's products, offer a wealth of health advantages. This nutritional powerhouse contains crucial nutrients such as iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese, selenium, and thiamine (vitamin B1), contributing significantly to overall well-being and immune health. Oats are also a notable source of protein and soluble fibre. One standout advantage of oats is their role in reducing cholesterol levels. This is attributed to the presence of beta-glucan fibre, a key component of oats, which helps maintain a healthy lipid profile. Consuming 3 grams or more of soluble fibre from oats daily aids in sustaining a normal blood cholesterol profile, as recognized by established lipid profile parameters. These qualities highlight the nutritional value of oats, in accordance with the Nutrient Requirements and RDAs for Indians as per the ICMR's 2010 guidelines.
What is the difference between Bagrry’s White Oats and Steel Cut Oats?
Steel Cut Oats are made by cutting the oat kernel into 2-3 pieces. Steel Cut Oats take longer to cook (10-15 mins) and make a chunky, nutty tasting porridge. Regular White Oats are flaked, faster to cook (2-5 mins) and make a finer, smoother porridge.
Are Bagrry’s White Oats, Steel Cut Oats, Oat Atta, and Oat Bran gluten-free?
Oats, in their natural state, are indeed gluten-free. Nevertheless, the oats we procure are subject to handling and transportation in bulk by our suppliers. This process can introduce the possibility of cross-contact when the oats share fields or vehicles previously used for other grains like wheat, resulting in potential trace amounts of gluten in the final product. Furthermore, our production facilities that handle oats are also involved in the processing of wheat. Consequently, we refrain from labelling our products as gluten-free due to the potential for cross-contamination. This transparency in our practices ensures that individuals with gluten sensitivities or allergies can make informed choices about our products.
What is the best way to store Bagrry’s Oats?
We recommend that Bagrry’s Oats be stored in a cool, dry & odour free place. Once opened, it is important to store contents in a well-sealed container to eliminate the risk of infestation and to retain freshness.
Why Oats Boost Immunity?
Scientific studies have revealed that oats play a substantial role in enhancing your body's immune system. The beta-glucan fibres in oats are equipped with antimicrobial properties that aid white blood cells, the body's frontline defenders, in swiftly pinpointing the source of infections. Oats are also rich in essential nutrients like selenium and zinc, known for their pivotal roles in combatting infections. Additionally, oats are a valuable source of arginine, an amino acid that contributes significantly to maintaining a robust immune function. So, make sure not to miss your morning bowl of oats to keep your immune system in prime fighting condition.
