20-30g (1.5-2 tablespoons) of chia seeds is sufficient quantity to consume, depending on your need of fibre intake. 30g of Chia seeds should give you 11-12g of dietary fibre. The RDA of dietary fibre varies from 25-35g as per FSSAI.
Chia seeds can be consumed cooked or raw. You can eat chia seeds raw by simply adding them on cereals, yogurt, oatmeal, smoothies or lemonade / juices. They can also be added to baked goods and muffins. Chia seed gel can be used in place of eggs in baking. To make this gel just soak 1 part chia seeds in 3 part water, once the seeds are completely soaked (in about 5-10mins) blend the gel and stir.
Nutritionally there is minimal difference between the black and white chia seeds. Both contain essentially the same amount of omega-3, protein, fibre, and other nutrients.
We recommend that Bagrry’s Organic Chia Seeds be stored in a cool, dry & odour free place. Once opened, it is important to store contents in a well-sealed container to eliminate the risk of infestation and to retain freshness. There is no need to keep the chia seeds in the refrigerator.
