  • Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 cup Bagrry's Oat Bran
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, Jumbo rolled oats


  • In a small bowl, combine the warm water, honey/maple syrup, and yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, Bagrry's Oat Bran, and salt.
  • Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough is formed.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm draft-free place for about 1 hour or until its doubled in size.
  • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into equal-sized portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball, roll them into required shape & size and then place them on a greased baking sheet, leaving some space between each roll.
  • Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes until they have doubled in size.
  • While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • If desired, brush the tops of the rolls with a little water and sprinkle on some sesame seeds pumpkin seeds or rolled oats for extra flavor and texture.
  • Once the rolls have risen, bake them in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown on top and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
